I think you nailed it perfectly. That's very much at the heart of what draws me to this pairing and you see it explored in quite a lot of the fic about them. There's just so much to unpack there! Something really intense about that kind of relationship. It's love even in the heart of darkness. 

I'm really glad the setting worked for you. It's an interesting thing about the film, the way it blends that kind of exaggerated Victorian London with the sort of grittiness you get with Ritchie.

And yep I'm working on the second part at the moment. There was just a fic exchange over at blackwoodcoward  that sort of held things up, but it shouldn't be long before it's done!
