This is so brilliantly written. They're very vengeful and sinister people with very pure affections for each other. Your descriptions took them away from their "trappings" as it were and forced them to face reality of their world, which works so well with Holmes exposing the "magic" as mechanism, too). It's so romantically..decadent..in another sort of way without gold and robes. There is still magic, after all; Blackwood/Coward being evidence of such.
