 FUCK.

FUCK YOU, BRANDON. YOU SMIRKING, SMUG, HYPOCRITICAL GIT. FUCK YOUR PETTY, MISERABLE BULLSHIT. YOUR WITLESS JOKES. YOUR DUMB LITTLE SCHEMES. YOUR FUCKING JEALOUSY AND YOUR COMPLETE AND UTTER LACK OF ANYTHING EVEN APPROACHING HONOR.

FUCK YOU, BRYAN. YOU DESPICABLE, UGLY, EVIL FUCKING MAN.

FUCK YOU, SEYMOUR. YOU SOULLESS BLOODY TOAD.

FUCK YOU, GARDNER.

AND FUCK YOU, SHOW. FUCK YOU FOR BRINGING IN GREGORY CROMWELL FOR ONE FUCKING EPISODE JUST TO REALLY SALT THE WOUND. THAT WAS A LOW BLOW.

I had to watch this in fits and starts because it was making me feel queasy and I knew what was going to happen, I knew it, but that didn't help one bit. Oh god. I just started reading Wolf Hall too which made the whole thing about a thousand times worse and he was crying and fuck, fuck it all I don't think I can watch Season 4 because I hate every character in this show with an unspeakable white hot intensity right about now.

I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same. You will keep hating Gardiner, but the others will get more bearable again. The worst thing about season four? Catherine Howard. The ugliest, most annoying little slut ever. I wish they had killed her off right after one episode or so, she was unbearable. SRGISLRGBFVJSDBFLJHSBGFISGOZI. Erm,yes. And Gregory Cromwell was adorable. sure, it hurt more that way, but I was glad to see a bit more of human!Crom.

Yay for Wolf Hall! How do you like it so far?

I find it difficult to really hate any of the women in the Tudors, they have such little agency, it's like anything they do...well usually some guy arranged for that to happen and most of my dislike transfers on to him.

Henry deserves to get cuckholded anyway.

I love it! Thanks so much for recommending it! I found the writing style a little hard to get used to at first, but it's really good. I think I've laughed out loud a couple of times at the great dialogue. (I'm only just past the part where Liz dies)

Yeah, but since for some weird reason they decided to write out the Duke of Norfolk, who was the guy who arranged most of the Catherine Howard stuff, there's no guy to hate. So you end up with this unbearable little twat and you can't transfer your hatred to anyone else. ;)

Yes, the style can be a bit confusing in the beginning, but I ended up enjoying it. SAnd the dialogue is amazing. Speaking of Norfolk, he's HILARIOUS in that book. I love how Cromwell is constantly making fun of him. Of everybody, for that matter.
"Whatever you call yourself nowadays, Cromwell." - "The Duke of Norfolk says I'm a 'person'. :D"

But look at it this way - if you manage to watch far enough into series four (or just skip to the end) you'll probably get to see all one the ones you hate die! Or else get humilated somehow...

That's a really good point and in fact, that's what I did.

I WAS UNSATISFIED WITH A COUPLE OF PEOPLE NOT MEETING STICKY ENOUGH ENDS.

I sort of have to get over it, this being, uh, semi-historical I guess. I am too sad there are only 4 series. They need to carry on and on, into Elizabeth's reign!

Aw, c'mon! You've been in fandom how long now? You know how we deal with "canon" we don't like;

fig. 17; The "fix-it" fic.

Also - yes, very annoyed. I had heard it was spanding the whole Tudor reign, going right through to when Elizabeth died, not just four seasons or watching Henry get it off with a long list of women and become increasing aware of and frustrated by how impotent he really was.

There again, I think Michael Hirst also wrote the "Elizabeth" films with Cate Blanchett - he has kind of been there, done that.

Haha! Ah you nailed it on the head there. Do they think we're only watching it for JRM? His 'old man' voice was hilarious to listen to near the end there, I'm sorry, it's very unconvincing watching him try to pull that off.

Hmmm. Do I dare rewrite history? *gasp*

Do you know, I have consumed SO much media about that same little time period now. But I haven't seen those Blanchett films and now I really think I must remedy that fact!
